Org:WM North American federation
A team is evaluating prospects for collaboration among the North American WMF affiliates. It is now a formalized project with an advisory committee. See meta:North American Hub Research Project. Funding came from a WMF/MSIG grant in early 2023, and a report from the research will be out in early 2024.
The study shall incorporate input from (a) active North American Wikimedians and event organizers, (b) chapters with staff from around the world, to see how they use their resources, and (c) partner organizations who want to work effectively with us, e.g. GLAM institutions, Internet Archive, EFF, Creative Commons, and OpenStreetMap, and possible funders too.
Before filing the planning grant, we are reviewing models we have been advised to review and adopt from:
