Advice on how to cite oral history sources

At a conference I asked oral-history archivist Maija Grizane of Daugavpils University how one might properly cite oral/interview sources. (The topic came up at our Wikispore meetings.) She sent these examples, oriented toward the kinds of data stored in her university archive:

I send you three examples from different articles that demonstrate the way we put references on our oral history sources.

1)

Life story of A. K., male, born in 1943, recorded by Vl. Škodovs on 17 March 2003 in Daugavpils, Latvia (45 minutes, Russian), transcribed by Vl. Škodovs, kept in the collection of the Oral History Centre of Daugavpils University, Latvia, number in the catalogue 20, in abbreviated form DU OHC: 20.

Life story of P.Z., female, born in 1930, recorded by V. Zeļenkovs on 14 June 2005 in Daugavpils, Latvia (63 minutes, Russian), transcribed by V. Zeļenkovs, DU OHC: 239.

2)

DU MV 712, female, born in 1930, Russian, Old Believer, recorded in Preiļi on 5–6 July 2010.

DU MV 760, female, born in 1930, Russian, Old Believer, recorded in Preiļi on 7 July 2010.

3)

DU MV 129 Life-story of M.B. (b. 1923), in text Maria, recorded by S. Bogatkevičs, in Daugavpils, 6 August, 2003, 72 minutes, in Russian.

DU MV 133. Life-story of J.G. (b. 1930), in text Janina, recorded by I. Bogdanoviča, in Krāslava, 1 November, 2003, 69 minutes, in Latvian.

Depending on the article and the journal we are publishing in, the approach could be different, but in all examples you will see the code of the interview by which it is possible to identify it in the collection.
