Braindump from wmf-wikis

I got interested in this topic a few week / wikidecade ago, and have been contributing disjointed edits to 3 wmf-wikis on the topic since. At this point I am not sure if this wiki is going to be my fourth or not? Ottawahitech (talk) 11:58, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Great Ottawahitech, you're very welcome to join and help shape this area. I do feel that Wikipedia and other existing wikis' relatively narrow scope are limiting coverage of this important topic.--Pharos (talk) 19:57, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks Pharos. I like this approach. I am in the process of trying to bring over my so-called braindump from a collection of other wmf-projects, but it appears I have managed to trip the spam filter when trying to paste it to my own user-subpage here. Ottawahitech (talk) 15:57, 22 April 2020 (UTC) It seems the spam filter does not like hyper-links to twitter.com? Ottawahitech (talk) 17:06, 22 April 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Maybe it is worth establishing something (?protocol) to be able to link, (?)preview and (?) cash social media here? (as it is not allowed on Wikipedia) Zblace (talk) 10:28, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
{{replyto|Zblace}} thanks for keeping this topic alive. I forgot all about this misbehaving spam filter and spent precious time trying to bring my braindump over to wikispore, again. It appears nothing has changed since April, the filter still will not let links to twitter live here, sigh... On top of it signing in is a hassle because I always end up with a Application Connection Error on meta for some reason and when I manage to extricate myself from meta, it takes forever to view pages here. Not sure what the problem is? I hope it will improve sometime soon. Ottawahitech (talk) 16:42, 22 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Covid wiki-adjacent resources

I was thinking maybe we should have a page on Crisis:Covid wiki-adjacent resources, those emergent projects from members of the Wikimedian community, no matter their platform. There are at least three or four I've come across. Also, we are probably starting to see the emergence of parallel efforts to address issues raised by the George Floyd protests.--Pharos (talk) 20:17, 4 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Pharos: Do you mean create a page with links to other wmf-pages that are about various aspects of COVID? If so I believe there is/was a page on Meta that started doing that, but I think (not sure) it was abandoned? Ottawahitech (talk) 22:37, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
