WikiBrunch

WikiBrunch is an event envisioned as hybrid queer-feminist intersectional meetup with participation of less adressed communities and content/methodological gaps in focus.

We are intentionally choosing brunch as it is:

  • casual format (we wanted to position it between Wiki Picnics and Wiki Salons, away from Wiki Workshops and trainings)
  • weekends are more free/flexible for many, especially if they include joy of food making/eating together
  • establishing informal social connections between different expats and locals.

In terms of Wikivise we focus on Wikidata/Wikibase, Commons, Wikispore, Wikivoyage as these are the projects they need more love and visibility, but open for all. Wikipedia editing is always an option, but likely focusing again there on content gaps, minority experiences and innovative/non-normative methods, rather then established/normative work modes/activities.

In 2025 it was an experimental event programing and networking format mostly for Berlin queers and/or diasporas). In 2026 we hope to develop it further to a more stable and/or flexible/elusive versions inter-changing...
