The Wikipedia Diversity Observatory is a project to monitor several kinds of diversity in representation on Wikimedia. They measure and report representation of places, peoples (and their characteristics such as gender, sexual orientation, religious groups, ethnic groups, and indigenous group), cultural concepts, and languages. Knowledge equity calls for broad online representation across these categories.[1]

Ongoing reports and visualization are shown at their web site: https://wdo.wmcloud.org There is a lot of wise analysis in the pages on the project: meta:Category:Wikipedia_Diversity_Observatory (Draw more from the academic paper Q113501905.) Not clear how much this effort is sponsored by the WMF -- it seems to be volunteer-initiated -- but the WDO has an ongoing site on wmcloud.org.
