International Women's Day 2020 is a commemoration of International Women's Day, and marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The UN Women theme for this year is "I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights". The Generation Equality campaign has cited "small actions, big impact", drawing inspiration from movements like Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace, the Icelandic Women's Day Off and the #MeToo movement. [1] The International Women's Strike has also been active in parts of the world since 2017.

Wiki Meta-Commentary

English Wikipedia has highlighted International Women's Day World AIDS Day in "On this day" on the Main Page for March 8 for every year since 2004, and a number of other language editions have done similarly. The topic is rated as a "good article" on Esperanto Wikipedia, as Internacia tago de virinoj. There are a number of public Wikipedia edit-a-thon campaigns for International Women's Day and Women's History Month, including Women in Red, WikiWomen's History Month, and Art+Feminism.
