Naa Zangina (1648-1677) is one of the greatest king of then West African savanna, present-day Northern Ghana. He was the son of Naa Titugri. He became the king of Dagbon after the death of Naa Gungobli. Amidst the nine contestants who were all his brothers except Naa Andani Sigili, he rose to the rayal kingship of Yani - the paramountcy kingship title for Dagbon. He was involved in trading intercountry goods which made him travel extensively to the neighbouring countries including Burkina Faso, Togo, Mali and so on. Naa Zangina ascension to the skin of yani has been singled out for the wisdom deployed at the Mamprusi palace in Gambagaa. He is known in history as the first Muslim king of Yani who introduced Islam to Dagbon kingdom and other cultural practices.
