Jed Walters was an American arborist and skateboarder.

Early life

Walters started skating in 1987 in South Dakota. Growing up, his favorite skaters were: Natas Kaupas, Mark Gonzales and Matt Hensley.

Skateboarder career

Walters' first sponsor was BBC (Better Board Company). Walters appeared in the 1992 Q65088741 Love Child produced by Q3569977. Love Child is regarded as one of the most important skate videos of the early 90s. Walter's part in Love Child is recognized for his Q252986 over the 3rd street gap in which he caught the board with his feet significantly higher and cleaner than was practiced at the time.[1] To quote Anthony Pappalardo: "#jedwalters caught clean in 1992".[2] In the video, Walters skates to the song The Lion Sleeps Tonight by Q28231. The footage in Love Child was filmed by Q116378326 and Aaron Meza.

Skateboard historian nbd_archive recognizes Walters as the first skateboarder to release footage of a switch Q18299853. He did one at the "hip at Los Feliz and another one down the Hewlett-Packard three."

Walters was known for wearing Adidas shoes while he skateboarded, a stylish and unique choice at the time.

In a 2017 interview with Muckmouth conducted by Alex Dyer, Walters explained his relationship to switch skating and that he was always "fascinated with ambidexterity." Jed skated Q99533728.
