Maja Kuzmanović je generalistica - medijska umjetnica, dizajnerica iskustava, spisateljica, predavačica i voditeljica procesa – sklona kontemplaciji, kultivaciji i oblikovanju alternativnih budućnosti. Osnivačica je i predsjednica FoAM-a, paneuropske mreže transdisciplinarnih laboratorija na raskrižju umjetnosti, znanosti, prirode i svakodnevnog života. U FoAM-u Maja provodi futurološke eksperimente i razvija spekulativnu kulturu. Majini radovi predstavljani su širom svijeta, uključujući Venecijanski biennale arhitekture, konferenciju Anticipation, Transmediale, V&A, Ars Electronica, ISEA, Europalia, Design March i SIGGraph. Njeni su tekstovi objavljeni u akademskim časopisima i kulturnim publikacijama kao Journal of Futures Studies, Futures, IEEE Multimedia, Mediated Environments, Fourth Door Review, Digital Art and Culture, Ars Vitae i Art in the Biotech Era.

Maja Kuzmanovic is a generalist — media artist, experience designer, writer, speaker and process facilitator with a fondness for contemplation, cultivation and futurecrafting. She is the founder and president of FoAM, a pan-European network of transdisciplinary labs at the intersection of art, science, nature and everyday life. At FoAM Maja prototypes possible futures and conducts experiments in speculative culture. She began her career as a researcher and designer in residence at the Dutch Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) and GMD (now Frauenhoffer) in Germany. She was the department head of the Future Arts Corporation of the Belgian blue-sky research institute Starlab. Maja lectured and developed the curriculum for the Design Technology department at the University of the Arts Utrecht (NL). Her academic background includes art theory and design from the Accademia di belle Arti Venezia (IT), BA in design futures at the Utrecht School of the Arts (NL), MA in interactive media from the Faculty of Art, Media & Technology (NL) and the University of Portsmouth (UK), and a certificate of executive education in public leadership from the Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government (USA). Maja's work has been presented worldwide including the Venice Architecture Biennale, The Anticipation Conference, Transmediale, V&A, Ars Electronica, ISEA, Europalia, Design March and SIGGraph. Maja spends most of her time in between fields and cultures, on the lookout for emergent patters of change. Living with uncertainty is at the core of her creative practice.Whether working with environmental turbulence, re-imagining possible futures or hosting participatory events, Maja's work is grounded in care. Care for animate, inanimate and partially animate matter.
